I depend on LR all DMR and almost all of my editing. Update: it looks like the last maintenance update has changed the file export date to the shoot date. It's fairly cheap to get into the Elite version but the updates are expensive and limited. I'm left to wonder how many pro 'togs they listen to because while minor by themselves these things just make for friction in the work flow. I resort to local microcontrast increases and export sharpening but they fall short of what lens sharpening can achieve. That means there's no lens sharpening option in the edit function and unmask sharp does very little. I have to keep checking whether they've done the right module but years down the track it's still a gap. Every thumbnail indicates that there's a module for it but it's a Canon module. There's no camera module for the Sony 400/2.8 which is my most-used lens (with the A9 and A1).
Eg it's useful to have separate windows for thumbnail browsing and for editing but you can't click on the rear window to bring it to the fore. Its windows actions are not consistent with windows norms. In Windows Explorer in this case it would select the last number plus one and ask if you want to proceed and the 2nd time it just does it.Įxport files can't be renamed and take the export time as datestamp, not the original file's datestamp. If a number in the range has already been used in that folder, the process just stops. Ditto for the default number which will be n+1 of the last achieved. No option for a single press delete.Ĭlunky: the batch rename function, where I want to use a species name and incrementing number - the new name window is occupied by the last one you used and you have to select all and overtype or del/bkspace each char. Oh, and delete is Shift-Del and then confirm and sometimes click OK. This can easily get you into trouble when doing deletes and you're always double checking before going into edit. You select the left/rightmost thumbnail on the filmstrip and it often actually selects the first or second beside it. I pointed out bugs starting with v3 on the PL forum but they haven't been fixed. Shooting bursts, much of my work is culling and renaming, and I find v5 buggy and clunky for both.
